Fukuoka Fun and Fortune for Warringah Worlds team

The World Masters games were recently held in Fukuoka, Japan and Warringah Masters were proudly represented by eight swimmers.

 

Fun, Fitness, Friendship and Food was the theme, the team bonded quickly and formed a very supportive and encouraging spirit.

 

Some great individual and team performances including:

  • Steve Ford – 2 bronze medals in 200 backstroke and 400m Individual Medley, 5th in 200m Butterfly, 7th in Open water, 800m F.S and 200IM, Australian Record in 200BS

  • Vinnci Lee – 10th in the 100m butterfly

  • Keith Bourdon – 4th in the 400m Individual Medley

  • John DeVries - Bronze medal in the 200m backstroke

  • Jorian Catzel - 2 bronze Medals in the 100m butterfly and the 50m backstroke, 7th in the 50m Breastroke and 6th in the 50m butterfly

 

8th place for our mixed medley relay featuring Keith Bourdon, Vinnci Lee, Helen White and John DeVries

Many Personal Bests and great swims by the entire team, the relays were a lot of fun!

Great food, team dinners and Japanese sweets

Many friendships formed and fond memories of a wonderful experience.

 

Steve Ford was nominated as MVP (Most Valued Player) by the team captain. Well done Steve!
